Google Meet is one of the best video-communication service developed by Google. Google planned to begin retiring Google Hangouts in October 2019. Google Meet was earlier made free for all users, with no time limit on video meetings. But these benefits are available till September 30 which is just a few days away.
In a recent update Google announced that after 30 September Google Meet will be free only for people with a G Suite account. G Suite is a paid subscription tool and people with this account can only access Free Google meet while for other it is paid.
From September 30 onwards, video meetings for free users will be limited to 60 minutes. Google Meet will not only users to host meetings beyond 60 minutes. Meanwhile, the users who do not want to upgrade to the paid version can continue using the free version albeit with a limit on the meetings.
Google Meet and other video conferencing platforms like Zoom have been on high demand during the coronavirus pandemic. Due to this, business people have to find the alternative for Google meet as they use it regularly which is why Google will put force on them to pay for the new version.
Let’s just wait for the next announcement from Google if it puts a limit on the number of people allowed to be part of a meeting with the free plan.
